When I first started my business I was a regular attendee at our local Business Link centre. Run by business professionals from all sectors of business who give valuable free advice. Also there are a number of seminars where many new start ups get together and compare notes. I would strongly advise anyone starting out on their own to look this organisation up in their local area.

Many thanks for a great blog.

Hi Albert,

Well you know more about "networking" than I know. So let me brief you on the "intuitive" part.

The best way to begin is to ask you to recall a time when the telephone rang when you were not expecting a call and without seeing the caller-id, you know who was calling you. For many people this happens all the time and for others, occasionally.

Well that is a form of intuition. You know something beyond what your 5 senses or intellect inform you about.

The problem that most people, especially guys have a difficult time accepting information that we can not attribute to a specific source... but that is the nature of intuition.

Another quick example is "trusting your first impression" during test taking. This is a form of intuition that when mastered leads us to very interesting results.

Now to a "Network Whisperer" of "Networking Intuition", simply approach any situation or problem with a quiet and calm mind seeing and listening to everything with your attention on nothing in particular... Then allow yourself to "know" what the answer or solution or problem is.

I recommend that you keep a journal of while you develop these types of skills so you can write "My intuition said it was X @ a specific time and date"... then when the problem is resolved (the answer found) enter that into your journal. Compare the two entries for their accuracy or similarity.

In this type of tracking and verification of intuition, your intuitive sense was either "right or wrong" there is no middle ground...

I hope this helps. If you're interested in more information, visit my forum at http://AskTerryHall.com

I am an accountant from California and networking was the main tool that I used to help me build my firm. I actually have been using Referral Key for the past 8 months and it has helped me build my trusted network, and also allows me to easily manage my referrals. I believe that any small business should build a strong network, and I think that Referral Key is a great company to help you do just that.

Terri,
I really think your blog is great. We actually developed the first online tool for referral networking called Referral Key. I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.
