Did you know that all you have to do to be a member of the Better Business Bureau is to pay their membership fee? As a business owner and entrepreneur, I have been solicited by the Better Business Bureau for each of my businesses to join as a member to advertise in their Better Business Bureau Yellow Pages. The idea of third party endorsement from an entity like the Better Business Bureau makes perfect sense.

While the BBB does have a formal complaint procedure, I my personal opinion it’s not a great way to find the products and services that you want and need.

Business Networking referrals on the other hand has 3 components. First the Referrer – the person putting their professional reputation on the line to give you a referral. Second the Referred – the person, company, product or service that is being referred. Third the Referree – the person or company that is receiving the referral.

The real difference is that of relationship. The relationship between the Better Business Bureau is strictly a business relationship because they take money to promote a business. Where a Business Networking Referral involves many types of relationships based on trust, honor and accountability. Where each party involved has a commitment to the other parties.

Business Intuition: Not Just Women’s Work

As summer winds down, I’ve been busy getting several projects ready for launch after the Labor Day Holiday. They are internet based projects and my entry into the “4 Hour Work Week”. We’re putting together several membership sites that will help business people with their business networking and home based business owners in making more money from home and start their “4 hour work week” business. Very exciting and something that is a 20 year dream coming to fruition.

I’ve been using my “intuitive” abilities to guide me in these ventures. It’s fun honoring my “spiritual values” and following my “intuitive sense” and watching the project unfold. While at the same time I’ve been managing my ego, impulses and personality that wants to do things the way it’s always done things… down and dirty and very quickly. Now we have a built to last, intuitively designed and spiritually inspired business. Do you think it will work? – I know it will.

In the back ground while I’ve been working on my projects, I’ve gotten more acquainted with what it’s like to be a “professional intuitive consultant”. Since my name is “Terry Hall” most people expect a Business Intuitive named Terry Hall to be a woman. Well I’m not lady, woman, chick or female. So how did I male become a business intuitive?

That’s a good question. The answer may surprise you. I took a course. I heard about the class and knew and knew that I knew that I would be there. Not even a 2nd thought. The class I took taught me to meditate, quiet my mind, control my mind, leave my body, heal myself and others, communicate with Spirit and love myself. Of everything that I’ve learned and practiced “loving myself” has been the catalyst for having a fun and blissful life.

Anyway, what’s it like being a man in what is traditionally female role? Simply put a pain in the butt. Most people see me as my physical self [strong, powerful and no-nonsense]. When it’s time to use my soft skills and intuitive abilities they’re not quite sure how to take it. As a side note, it always made dating fun and eventful. Making love with an Intuitive Man that is also strong and powerful is a trip [according to the feedback that I've received]. But that’s another article for my personal journal. ;-)

As a male intuitive counselor that is straight, I’ve also had many interesting offers for the gay community. It the gay community, I’m told that my physicality would make me a “bear” but the few that have tried have realized that I’m hopelessly hetero.

There is only one other stereotype that I’ve had to manage to get and maintain my credibility. That is the stereo-typical way that most intuitive counselors dress. Most intuitives, psychics and healers look like they are on the way to a Renaissance Festival somewhere or they seem to have gone to the “Tammy Faye Baker School of Make Up” and using more cologne and perfume that a 60-something Realtor ™.

So now that I’ve touched on the major stereo types in the Spiritual/Intuitive Community, let’s talk about if you should hire me. The answer is probably not. I am a real big pain in the ass. I’ve fired clients. I don’t worry about hurting your feelings. I only work on my scheduled hours. I don’t put up with whining, complaining and other distractions. Simply put, I’m pretty much a “Spiritual Jerk”.

You may be asking why anyone would hire me. It’s simple – I’m damn good. It you want something and are willing to have it on your life, then I can assist you in getting it. My preference is Business – hence “Business Intuitive” and “The Small Business Prophet”.

Imagine having someone that can listen to your heart is communicating show you the most probable future and how to design your life in a way that strikes a balance between your dreams and reality. Works very well. I can say that now that I am my own client.

Oh, another reason that the stereo-typical spiritual community disinterests me is that most practitioners do not practice for themselves what they preach to others and the dis-congruity is the reason that most Spiritual people are happy being unhappy.

Why is Business Intuitive Terry Hall so damn expensive?

I get asked this question all the time so I decided to answer it publicly and eventually add it to my FAQs on my website.

What can I say. I help people get what they want from life with my Intuitive and Psychic Abilities.

My specialties are: Business, Sales, Marketing, Relationships, Stress and Anger Management. If you are a MLM business owner and not making it, I can help you see why. If you are Single and don’t want to be, I can show you why. If you are stuck, pissed off and angry I can help you see why.

There’s no magic here. We all have intuitive abilities and you’ve experienced it yourself many times. What makes a difference is being able to get the “intuitive” information that you need, when you need it and not randomly. Getting “The Intuitive Edge” in your business and your life – in the areas that you need information right now is where I come in.

I’m not cheap. There are plenty of cheap spiritual counselors, psychics and intuitive counselors out there – just check your local psychic or spiritual bookstore. You can get reading for a buck or so a minute. I choose not to work that way.

If you want great legal advice would you go to a para-legal or the cheapest lawyer in the yellow-pages? Well maybe, but it’s your business, your happiness and your peace-of-mind that are at stake. A Chinese saying goes “The real cost of free advice is not discovered until you act on it.”

The bottom line is this. We all have a choice to make about our worth and our value. I know that I my work helps people have happier, more fulfilling lives and that is afterall what we are here for – to be happy according to the Dali Lama.

The cost of happiness, freedom, joy and bliss is high. More than the financial price you pay, it’s the cost of giving up your righteousness. For me to wrestle with righteousness, I charge a lot financially. Most people that pay my price feel that it’s worth every penny…. You’re the judge.

If you missed my interview of Mr. X yesterday, you missed a good one. Not a hype filled infomercial, but good solid information to incorporate into the economic engine for your business. Listen In Now

Here are the high lights:

Your internet strategy needs 3 components.

  1. Money or main site(s) tooled for a specific purpose.
  2. Satellite sites that have road signs pointing back to your money site(s).
  3. Get involved in communities connecting you and your satellite sites to the world.

Overall the internet is a huge 1 billion user community. Inside this community are specific niches that you care about, where you are an expert, where your passion meets your expertise. No matter what you love and what you’re into there is a site, blog or on-line community that already exists where you can meet and connect with like minded people.

I can not think of anything better than doing business with like minded people with whom I share common interests. It makes life fun and easy.

Some Interesting Stuff:

  • A good email list is 100,000 to 1,000,000 (double opt-in)
  • A better list is a list of people that are buyers – they buy your stuff
  • Many gurus are high tech and not high touch – not showing personal interest in others… (I’m guilty of this – email is too easy)
  • A natural result of the economy is people will be looking for ways to make additional income.
  • People will be looking to create and establish multiple streams of income.
  • Joint Ventures (JVs) are excellent ways to sell your product, service and build your list.

I currently maintain 3 blogs for personal branding and to promote my money sites. I did this to do see haow it all worked and to learn what it takes to get web traffic and a high search engine placement. It takes 3 to 4 hours a day to keep me at number 11 or 12 when you search Google for “Terry Hall”. I occasionally jump to number 4 or 5. (I was ranked about 155 when I started this project).

“Terry Hall” has a “kei” (kei is an index of internet competition for a word or phrase typed into a search engine) of 0.01 anything over 20.00 is good – I’m not going to change my name so I am stuck with working with what I’ve got… There is a rock star in the UK also named Terry Hall and he gets tons of press and fan activity.

The next step is to implement Mr. X’s web traffic system to bump me up to number 1. It’s worked for his other clients and test sites since November of last year. Guest Quest 2008 Update – Donny Deutsch Guest or Die Blogging

Donny’s people haven’t called yet and it’s been 10 days – I’m soooooooo disappointed. I knew that this social networking and blogging stuff wouldn’t work. Maybe I should try something else?!?

Oooooops, I didn’t mean to let you peek inside my head! But this morning I did wake up thinking that The Big Idea Guest Quest is a Bad Idea… This little pitty party lasted about 5 minutes. Then I got back to my game to Guest Quest 2008.

Here is what I’ve learned so far:

  • Facebook is interesting but seems to be run by people selling “Hoe to make money on Facebook” seminars, cds, consulting and tons of mini-applications. I’ve been poked, super-poked, bought drinks, bought, sold, received offers to buy my friends list.
  • I’m being followed by 7 people on Twitter. I know one person. The other 6 are following 30,000+ people. I’ve been tweeting a bit. Jury is still out…
  • Through LinkedIn I’ve been able to locate several past “The Big Idea” guests, some past and present “The Big Idea” staff. I’m considering upagrading my account so I can connect more quickly. – I had a premium account before, but was too scattered to benefit from it – with my reinvention as a Business Intuitive and Ask Terry Hall branding, it feels right – 2.7 Intuitive Index…
  • I’ve been locked out of myspace for a couple of days… “too many attempts too log in” the box to verify that I am human doesn’t accept my response…
  • On Plaxo’s Pulse I’ve reconnected with several people. It’s fun – to reconnect.
  • I’ve tried to integrate twitter into pulse and facebook. Not sure that it’s working.
  • I promoted my radio program “Get The Intuitive Edge in Your Business and Life” on twitter, pulse, facebook and linkedin – I had 79 people download the first program and I’ll track this weeks downloads. You can listen to yesterday’s program at http://blogtalkradio.com/askterryhall

So far the learning curve is quite high and the results low with social networks. Like anything it seems to take a while to get established and build relationships.

The only thing that I’ve found out that is a concern is that it seems that Facebook tracks actively tracks your every move on the internet. Not just when your signed into Facebook, but also when you’re signed out. Also the developers of Facebook applications get your information when you take the application. Concerned or not? Again the jury is still out…

What Is An Intuitive Consultation?

An Intuitive Consultation is direct access to the future, right now in the present. The closer a future event, the more accurate the impression.

An Intuitive is someone that can see the foreshadows of future events clearly. Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce are examples of famous prophets. Leaders have long sought the talents and insights of “Prophets” since man became aware.

I can’t speak for all intuitive consultants or prophets, but here is how an intuitive consultation goes with me:

  1. General introduction and disclaimer: Something like – have you ever worked with an intuitive before and future is not cast in stone – you can change or enhance it. Complete confidentiality. Recording is okay.
  2. Two Choices: Ask your questions first or See what shows up. If you have specific and pressing questions, I like to get complete them first.
  3. Information & elaboration: I give the information exactly as I get it. Then answer your questions and elaborate on what I see, feel and hear so that you understand and can act on the information.
  4. Wrap Up & Completion: The final step is making sure that there is clarity. I give you my special “bat line” email address with follow-up instructions for any additional questions that you may have.

Here are the types of stuff that comes up:

  • I predicted a fire with specific details two weeks prior to it starting.
  • I saw a buyer for a business and that some specific paperwork needed to be completed now to preserve some trade and service marks prior to negotiations beginning. The buyer showed up within 10 days and the paperwork was indeed out of date.
  • I saw a family member reach rock bottom and that she would be in a single car accident that would “wake her up” to the dangers of her lifestyle. The accident happened about 4 months later.
  • I saw that a partner in a closely held company would would start a transaction that would cause problem for the other partners in the company as well as for the company. The partner has applied for a personal loan and pledged his stock as collateral. The transaction was never finalized and prevented the company from having future problems negotiations to sell.
  • Helped an author create her next project. This was an idea from years earlier that had been forgotten.
  • Helped new authors brainstorm the “perfect” title for their new project.
  • Sales Assistance & Strategy: I regularly assist several clients with specific strategies to land accounts and close business.
  • Marketing Strategy: I assist businesses find their ideal niche and place in the market place.
  • Clients to fire recommendations. I assist my clients with client strategies to have their current client relationships become more profitable and less aggravating.

While these last few examples are general – the information is very specific. Due to confidentiality, it can not be specific.

The irony is that I just began using my intuitive abilities in my own business (the shoemakers kids). It works.

Over the weekend and 3 things kept rattling around in my awareness.

  • Does Social Networking really work?
  • Being a Guest on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch
  • Is The Blogosphere a business tool for the average business owner?

I didn’t make any connection between the three but I knew it was there. I quieted my mind and did my Business Intuition Thing for myself and there it was in plane sight. To be a guest on The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch use social networking and the blogosphere and see how long it takes.

And along the way, document my process on my blogs. I will document if Social Networking sites really work or if they are a phenomenal waste of time for the typical business professional.

I know that blogging works for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If you Google “Terry Hall” and my website AskTerryHall.com shows up 5th position as of today. On Yahoo, my website TerrySHall.com is 22 from my blog articles. (FYI there is a British Rock Star named Terry Hall that gets a ton of press and has a dedicated fan following)

So this is a test to sort out the hype and how much work is involved to get a real result.

No BS Marketing is TOTAL BS!

Or so I thought…

During election years, the smell of BS is thick everywhere you go. You can’t get away from it. Politicians are very good at telling us exactly what we want to hear to get elected. They want use to experience the pleasure of their Winning and the Pain of the other side winning.


And the worst part is that I am just as guilty as the next person. It works, but at what cost?

Human beings want to avoid pain and seek pleasure. Marketers know this and make Pain/Pleasure the focus of the message. The more you can get a person in the experience of the pain they want to avoid or the possibility of the pleasure they what to have, the more attractive your solution will be.

Dan Kennedy is the master of the No BS brand. Dan’s message was simple and straight to the point with no concern for offending anyone. If you want to make money, a lot of it now… Here’s what you do.

The only problem is that it’s all TOTAL BS! But it works.

…and I hated it all until something changed.

I don’t think it’s possible to watch an infomercial or read a compelling sales letter without considering
buying what is being sold. Just passing by a TV station that is running an infomercial, will suck you in. The energy, the tone, the buzz words, the magic. the urgency… ALL trigger our desire and emotions. I don’t care what it is, I want to buy it.

The words, ideas and phrases that evoke emotion and sell…

  • Killer Copy
  • Headlines
  • Sub Headines
  • Offers
  • Guarantees
  • Long Copy Letters
  • Objection Handling
  • Direct Response
  • Act Now
  • NLP
  • Persuasion

As someone that has practiced meditation and mental control for over 20 years it’s fascinating to watch my automatic responses to these messages. They set me up, suck me in and I LOVE IT. We all do. The possibility of EASY MONEY, the perfect body, dying at 190 having great sex with 3 super models in the back seat of the car of my dreams…. Well it’s almost too much to handle. Sorry that was probably TMI (too much information).

My first exposure to No BS Marketing was in the early 90s at T Harv Eker’s first “Street Smart Business School” in the San Diego Area. I got Dan Kennedy’s “Ultimate Information Entrepreneur” Program.

That weekend changed the course of my life. I got an idea in my mind that it was possible to get rich in business. Even then, T Harv was a Master at NLP and Jedi Mind Tricks after all he learned from the master Tony Robbins. Even with my mental training, I fell for it all.

Since then, I’ve spent about 15 years as a student of this type of sales and marketing. There was only one thing missing. That one thing turned out to be the essential and key component to success in business.
Your business has to be something that you PASSIONATE about and something that you could be the BEST in the world at.

But I missed the point. I was too busy building businesses and economic engines that led to no where, in
industries that I didn’t care about and where I never wanted to be the BEST.

Finally! I connected all of the dots last year ago.

My Passion is Spiritual Growth and Self-Awareness and I am arguably one of the Best Intuitive Consultants in the world.

I love it so much that I’ve done it for Free for most of the past 20 years…

My area interest and focus (niche) is Business, Business Owners, Entrepreneurs & Licensed Professionals. I enjoy business. Owning a business is the American Dream.

So I combined my two loves and became a Business Intuitive and the truth is that I have no competition.

Most people don’t know anything about Intuition, Psychics or Mediums. They haven’t been educated. Their only experience is some odd looking person, that’s dresses funny and shuffling a deck of cards and charging a buck a minute in some tourist trap area. That’s exactly why I didn’t tell anyone, until now that I’m Intuitive. It’s pretty freaky, but most people who openly claim to be Intuitive look like freaks, act
like freaks and seem to be broke.

The part that I truly didn’t understand until now is when your vocation is your passion, when you’re doing what your best at, there is No BS involved. There’s simply the truth.
